Week beginning 23/11/2020

We have had lots of fun this week in Hertfordshire class!  In English we have been outside to collect ingredients to make a suitable meal for a Gruffalo and labelling the contents.  Afterwards we wrote instructions for the recipes!  In maths we have been practising completing part-whole models including learning how to add 3 numbers together to find totals.  We have been looking at similarities and differences as part of our Jigsaw PSHE programme and noting these down in comparison to our learning partners.

We have been practising our 'Lion King' dance and have filmed it to be sent off to enter in a dance competition.

On Wednesday we had a 'no pens' day!  We retold the familiar traditional story 'Goldilocks and the Three Bears' acting out the story in small groups.  We performed the story to each other and learnt to be a good audience.  We then had a Design and Technology challenge to build a structure made of paper to shield a small toy (based around the story of 'The three little pigs'. Mrs Scanzi tried her best to blow the houses down with her hair drier!

Next week Reverend Daniel will be doing a virtual tour of St.Martins church with us and explaining all of the different symbols.  We will be learning about 'Materials' in our science lessons.

In maths we will be practising using our 'part-whole' models using 2 numbers and 3 numbers to build amounts.  In English we are starting on a Christmas themed story 'Mog's Christmas Calamity'!  We will also be starting to decorate the classroom in preparation for Christmas!

Have a lovely extended weekend everyone!
