Viking Wow! Day

Have a lookout our amazing fun packed Viking Day. We made Viking jewellery, did Viking braiding, made a fire, cooked garlic mushrooms, drank 'mead' ate oat cakes and honey, played the ancient Viking game Kubbs and made clay runes.

This week we have looked at multiplication methods in maths and timetables knowledge is vital for this. We have complete science explorations looking at dissolving and separating. We have also explored reversible and irreversible changes.

We complete our final pieces after studying the work of David Hockney. The children created their own pictures which included a sense of perspective and use the same colour palette as used by Hockney.

Oh and we had a viking day to round off our topic and had a hopathon to raise much needed money for our container which will become an outdoor classroom!

And found frogspawn... which the children persuaded me to bring into the classroom and we did some research and a close study of their changes.

Phew!

Have a wonderful Easter break and I look forward to seeing you all back in school!
