Week beginning 22nd March 2021

We have had a great week at school with the children continuing to settle back into their daily routines!

In English this week we have been learning to identify the difference between fiction and non-fiction texts and starting to talk about their features.  We have been sharing some non-fiction texts linked to our science and R.E. topics.

In maths we have been practising counting in 2s and identifying odd and even numbers.  We have also been drawing part-whole models and tens grids to match our practical calculations.  Also we have started to learn how to use ten on a grid to ‘regroup’ when adding two numbers.

We have been continuing with our Science topic ‘Animals (including Humans) finding different ways to sort animals by focussing on their key features.  The children have chosen their own criteria for sorting.  In R.E. we have now had a look at some places of worship and also this week been learning about the meaning of Easter for Christians.

Next half term our topic is ‘What a wonderful World’ and we are going to be having fun exploring this theme through all of our subject areas.

We hope you have a great Easter break and we look forward to seeing you and the children back with us refreshed and ready to start the new summer term!

Look after yourselves everyone!

Mrs Scanzi and Mrs Warren.
