Week beginning 21st June 2021
What a fantastic and exciting week we have had at school! There has really been something for everyone with a great range of sports and exercise for all the children to engage in. We have had some excellent specialist coaches in teaching the children and it was great to see the children having a go at new things and really gaining in confidence in each of the sessions. Thank you to all the parents and children who sent in fruit for us to make the kebabs on Friday - they really were delicious! It formed an important part of our Design Technology experience learning about keeping healthy, food preparation and hygience and cooking skills like chopping and slicing!
We have been busy with our new phonic programme ' Read, Write Inc', which the children have really engaged with and we can already see improvements especially with the children's letter formation.
Next week we will finish off our work around the book 'Bats' in English, but will then be moving on to a new text 'Here Comes Mr Postmouse' by Marianne Dubuc. We will be sequencing the story and writing letters initially. In Maths we will be learning to share amounts and divide equally between two groups using vocabulary like 'equal', 'unequal' and 'remainder'.
Please take some time to watch our 'Opening ceremony' for sports day, with our chosen country being South Africa, with our special dancing!
Here are some photos taken during this week to show some of the excellent learning which took place! Enjoy!
