Week beginning 17th May 2021

The children have continue to consolidate their learning of fractions and compare those with denominators with numbers of the same multiples.

In English the children have taken part in a long write recounting the story of Shackleton's Journey. There has been some great examples with some real attention being paid, when editing. This was reflected by the whole class receiving a 'Writer of the Week' award. Well done Ulster.

In Jigsaw we have been exploring the children's interactions with each other whilst using technology, their rights while they access games and social media and importantly, their responsibilities. we looked today at some of the less desirable effects of overuse of screen time and the physical, social and mental outcomes children and adults may experience. As you can imagine this lead to some very lively discussions!

In RE the children have looked at how commitment to a persons faith is experienced as a Sikh follower and as a Christian follower. The children have taken part in some very thoughtful debates and discussion of their own opinions.

We have begun investigating the various slippers which are available in the shops, to develop thinking around, style, design, functionality, audience and appearance. The children spent time deciding on designs and colour choices.

Luckily, Ulster had lots of slippers to look at as many of the children have slippers to wear in class!
