Week beginning 17th May 2021
We have had a really fun week in English exploring rhyming sounds and making up our own rhyming 'nonsense' poems, based on a poem by Spike Milligan. We have also enjoyed illustrating a range of 'nonsense' poems! At the moment we are working hard on adding some actions and sounds to the poem 'On the Ning, Nang, Nong' ready to film it early next week! In maths we have been busy practising a range of calculation methods and counting forwards and back from given numbers. All children have also completed an arithmatic test this week and they have all tried their very best! We have been so proud of them!
Next week we will be performing our poem 'On the Ning, Nang, Nong' and writng out our own poems neatly ready to perform these too! In maths next week the children will all be completing a maths reasoning paper so that we can easily plan for their mathematical next steps when we return after half term. Also they will be completing a range of mixed additions and subtractions, practising using a range of different apparatus to support their calculations and learning to use the most efficient methods in maths.
We are looking forward to a busy few days! Just a quick reminder to everyone that school will not be open for the children this coming Thursday and Friday and that the children will be breaking up for half term at their normal time on Wednesday.
