Week beginning 16-11-2020

First of all we would like to say a big well done to all of Hertfordshire Class for their excellent class assembly this week!  The children worked so hard and thank you to all the parents for helping them to learn their lines so well.  We were so proud of you all!

In maths this week we have been learning to re-group amounts in different ways and recording our results in part-whole models.  We have been comparing amounts and numbers using the language 'the same', 'more', 'less', 'fewer' and 'equal'.

In English we have done some excellent sentence writing learning to extend our sentences with the conjunction 'and'.  We have been reading muddled sentences and spotting the errors learning to write them out correctly.

In P.E. this week the children have been doing lots of exercise running around the field and learning to play a game together linked to the film 'Toy Story'.

Also we have been having a big focus on learning to identify our feelings through using the 'Zones of Regulation'.

Next week we will be practising re-grouping and learning to add 3 numbers using part-whole models in maths.  In English we will be labelling a dish of food for a Gruffalo and writing down instructions about how to make the dish!

On Wednesday we are having a 'no pens day', which will be lots of fun with lots of opportunities for discussions, hot-seating, drama and games so we are all looking forward to that!

May I remind everyone that next Friday the school will not be open for the children so enjoy the extra long weekend!
