Week beginning 12/04/21

It has been lovely to welcome the children back after the Easter holidays. They have enjoyed exploring activities both inside and outside. Lots of children have been making mobile phones and laptops using the junk modelling.

We found a large box in the outside area and had great fun turning it into a car, a bus and a plane. The children drew headlights, doors, a steering wheel and pedals onto the box and were fantastic at taking turns at driving.

The children have been working really hard on their reading-well done for all your hard work at home supporting with this. Some of the children have also been having a go at writing independently and have received a Marvellous Me for their efforts. Phonics lessons are really paying off!

To encourage the children to drink more, I have set a 'water bottle challenge' to drink a whole bottle in a day. Some of the children have been supporting each other to complete the challenge!

In maths, we have been learning positional language. We have used climbing equipment to travel over, under and through. We have also been working on using words to describe a journey-forwards, backwards, turn towards, walk towards. You could practise this at home.

The children enjoy choosing their own learning. Have a look and see what they have been up to!
