Week 7 - 21st October 2019

Picture 1 and 2

The final write up of our instructions on how to catch a dragon! The children have drafted this over the past week and have had intensive 1:1 conferencing with the teacher to edit and improve their writing. You can see the use of time conjunctions, brilliant noun phrases and adverbials!

Picture 3 and 4

In maths this week, we have been consolidating our knowledge of the formal written method of subtraction. The children now have a great understanding of the operation for this method.

An example of the many fantastic pop up books that the children have made during design and technology. We dedicated a whole day for design and technology and have explore linkage systems, pop ups, how hinges work and creating springs. All the children were so proud of their work that they got to share it with another class.

Next half term

We will be starting back on the 4th of November with our new topic Let There Be Light. The children will be looking at the invention and history of light.

On Tuesday and Wednesday mornings of the first week back, will be a fun and exciting morning as the children will have a chance to explore the arts in different classrooms with different teachers. This is an opportunity for the children to learn about music, dance, art and drama.

We will also be starting street dancing on Wednesdays so please ensure that your child brings their P.E kit with them the first week back.

Swimming will continue on Thursdays.

Mrs James and I hope you all have a lovely half term!
