Week 7 - 19th October 2020
We started this week in English by writing a list of instructions to someone for 'How to Make the Perfect Friend'. We realised that we couldn't use our manners, but had to start the instruction with a direct verb. See below some of our instructions! We also looked at punctuating our sentences, making sure that each one had a capital letter at the beginning and for a proper noun. Not forgetting our full stops at the end too!
In Maths this week we played Top Trumps! We were looking at comparing numbers within the context of: height and weight. We loved this game and could've played all morning. We explored weighing scales and how to read them. By the end of the week we moved on to look at adding three-single digit numbers together and how we can re-group them.
In PE this week we played follow the leader and practised our basketball shooting and dribbling skills!
Black History Days
To finish our busy week, we spent two days learning all about Black History in the UK. We explored Benjamin Zephaniah's poetry and got to perform it to the class. We also learnt about 'Call and Response' style music, which is common in African cultures, and got to compose our own.
