Week 7 19th- 23rd October

This week has seen us explore water resistance and test different shaped boats and their speed.

We have taken part in Archery in PE, warming up for next terms Archery competition... we have some pretty deadly shots! ULSTER class impressed be with their accuracy.

We had lots of fun looking at Benjamin Zephariah's poetry and the children performed his poems in small groups.

We also familiarised ourselves with Chris Ofili, a modern artist, who was the youngest to win a Turner Prize for his work. He produced lots of art celebrating black diversity and also some that confront the issue of racism. The children looked at his painting 'No woman, No cry" depicting Dorren Lawrence, the mother of Stephen Lawrence. The children used this painting to influence their art techniques and style.
