Week 7 - 16th December 2019

It's Chriiiiiiiiiiiistmas!!

The children have had a week of Christmas activities, getting into the festive spirit. On Tuesday we went to the church to hear the nativity story and make a Christingle. The children learned that the candle represents Jesus, the orange represents the world, the red around the middle represents God's love, the four cocktail sticks represent the seasons and the sweets represent the good things in our lives. The children worked well to make their Christingle and we managed to get them back to school in one piece. The sweets were a bit tempting, so if your child's did not make it home in tact, see the photos below...

The week continued with a variety of Christmas activities in class. We read the story of Mo's Christmas by Judith Kerr. The children really love this story and now know lots of it by heart! They have particularly enjoyed making Christmas cards and writing them to each other, and wrapping up presents they have made.

On Thursday we had our Christmas party. We played lots of 'musical' games-musical statues, musical bumps, musical chairs and a dance competition. The children enjoyed their party food and then decorated some cupcakes Mrs Wilson had made.
