Week 7 -12th October 2020
This week we have been painting images from the 'Great Fire of London' and sharing these with the class. In maths we have been practising talking about arrangements of objects and describing similarities and differences. We have had fun in English making up some very bossy instructions which we then put up around the classroom and in the bathroom and cloakroom!
Next we we will be sharing the book 'Gruffalo Crumble and other recipes' and writing down some instructions for the Gruffalo to follow to make some recipes! In maths we will be practising learning to subitise in a range of ways using playing cards, dice and dominoes.
Later in the week we will be having a focus on Marcus Rashford as part of learning linked to Black History month. If the children could do a bit of research at home about him that would be great - I'm sure they would really enjoy it!
As a grand finale for our topic we will be constructing London in 1666, then setting fire to it on the back playground. The children can't wait to do this! We have done a thorough risk assessment for this, so please do not worry!
We are looking forward to an exciting week ahead!
