Week 6 - 7th October 2019

For Black History Week, Kent Class made Sweet Potato Fries - a Guinean delicacy. We followed the instructions and then wrote them up as part of our English Lesson. We also learnt about Rosa Parks and how she fought for what she believed in by not standing up on the bus. We acted out the story and then wrote about why she was important.

In Maths this week, Year 1's have been looking at part-whole models and how we can use these to represent sums and addition sentences. We then moved on to show how we can use 5 as a benchmark to add. So instead of 3+3=6, we can use our tens frame to show 5+1=6. It was a difficult lesson, but we persevered until we understood it.
