Week 6 - 7th December 2020

After learning about the story of the first Christmas last week, the children have enjoyed learning about Christmas traditions. We have put a tree up in the classroom and the children have helped to decorate it. The children have also really enjoyed decorating a Christmas tree shape with shiny paper, buttons and pipe cleaners. They look beautiful hanging up in the classroom and the children will be bringing them home at the end of term.
The children have been working really hard on their phonics and have now been taught all of the Phase 2 sounds and tricky words. We have learned some of the Phase 3 sounds (we will start with vowel sounds after Christmas) and they have been introduced to all of the Phase 3 tricky words. In order to support your child at home, download the following documents and use these to help them learn to recognise the sounds and read (and spell) the tricky words.
