Week 6 - 17th May 2021
English
What fun we had in English this week looking at Spike Milligan's poem and creating our own! We changed his 'Ning, Nang, Nong' to 'Quookz, Quocks, Queetch'. We had an amazing time writing them and can't wait for you to read them below.
We also finished our Book Review about 'How to Catch a Star'.
Maths
Maths was a little trickier this week, but we are finally beginning to understand dividing with remainders and how to work it out. Some of us are even beginning to use our multiplication skills and work it out mentally in our heads.
Geography
We compared the weather in Shenley to Svalbard, in the North Pole, this week. We thought about why the temperatures would be different, using our geographical knowledge of where both places are in relation to the Equator.
We also began to learn about Australia too! We have gone from one side of the world to the polar opposite! We learnt some amazing facts, such as why the flag looks the way it does, and we used our continental knowledge to describe its size.
Another amazing week of learning in Kent class this week! We can't wait for the next!
