Week 6 - 14th October

Meg and Mog

This week we have read the story of Meg and Mog. The children have enjoyed using cauldrons and Halloween toys in their learning. We have written spells, used positional language to hide and find a spider in the haunted house and compared how many things in a cauldron to see which has more, fewer or the same.

Reading Corner

The children in Exeter class love listening to a story. We have created a cosy reading area in class where children can go and snuggle up with a good book. They have enjoyed reading to themselves and with friends this week.

Children will change their reading book on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please read with your child daily and sign their reading record book. Please also practise the phonics cards in their phonics packs. Reading books and phonics packs should be kept in your child's book bag so that we can update them when needed.

Children will also have a library book which will be changed on Tuesdays. This book is one that has been chosen to read for enjoyment.
