Week 6 - 14th October 2019
Picture 1 and 2
This week in literacy, we have started writing the introduction to our instructions on how to catch a dragon. As you can see in the pictures, the class of Plymouth have drafted and then edited their work, turning the introduction into a fantastic piece of writing. Look at the use of some very descriptive language in their introductions!
Here is an example of what we have been doing in maths this week. We are learning to draw out the formal written method of subtraction. We are working on our reasoning through verbal conversations and explaining the steps or how we get to the answer.

Here are the finished products of our dragon eyes. The children have been working up to this point by looking into various great artists, different use of colours and texture. After a process of planning, they have created and then evaluated their art piece.
We will be continuing to finish our instructions on how to catch a dragon by using time connectives and focussing on sentence demarcation.
In maths, we will be continuing to focus on the formal written method of subtraction. Please ensure that your child is up to date with their TTRockStars as this will help for the upcoming half term.
We be finishing off our religious education topic of understanding festivals, traditions and key events in our lives. We will move on to design and technology where we will be looking into making pop up cards!
