Week 6 - 10th February 2020
During week 6, Plymouth class have been very busy! Firstly, they edited their fables which were fantastic! I was very proud of them and they shared with each other because they were so proud of them. They also went onto to writing a recount about their trip to the British History Museum last week.
In maths, they were learning about the properties of 2D shapes and describing horizontal, vertical, parallel and perpendicular lines. We used lines on the classroom carpet for the show to show which lines were parallel and perpendicular. As securing their 3x, 4x and 8x timestables are crucial in year 4, we have spent a lot of time chanting and practising them. Any practising at home would really beneficial!
In jigsaw, the children discussed their future goals and how they are going to achieve them. We also spoke about short term and long term goals. This was very valuable for the children to try and understand how you have to be patient, resilient and keep working hard in order to achieve your long term goals.
Football was back this week so they enjoyed learning accuracy and defending skills which can be used in a variety of sport, not just football.
I am wishing you all a happy and safe half term!
