Week 5 - 5th to 9th October 2020

This week in Maths we moved on to working on the Plave Value of three digit numbers and we enjoyed doing the Destination Questions.
Next week, our focus will be on ' Counting on and back in Ones , Tens and Hundreds'.

In English this week we based our writing on our hilarious Science Fiction book.

Why not watch it and enjoy the story?

Mr. Jones Reads - Earth Hounds as explained by Professor Xargle

storytime #readalong #xargle

We have started to write a diary entry from the perspective of one of the young aliens who is learning about the Earth Hounds.

Next Week, we will continue to work on this and do further work using conjunctions, adverbs and prepostitions.

Our Spellings this week will be based on the a-e pattern and will be found in the Reading Journals on Wednesday.

As you already know, we do not do spelling tests anymore in our school but practise them during the week and check them by dictation activities.

We are continuing our topic about Ancient Egypt and are now focusing on the River Nile in Geography.

As usual , we started off by asking questions that we would like answered during the learning time.

We then went on to learn about the location and features of the River nile.
Every Tuesday afternoon we have Forest School with Mrs Irvin and Mrs Henman. We always look forward to this fun time of outdoor learning. This week we made acorn soap and here are a selection of photos from then. You can see more of them on our classroom window.
