Week 5 - 5th July 2021

Another fabulous week here in Kent Class! We have enjoyed learning about Florence Nightingale and Mary Seacole and even comparing what it was like in the 1800s in hospitals compared to now. We got into character and wrote a letter as Florence Nightingale to our sister, Parthenope. We also played a board game answering lots of questions about Mary Seacole.

RE:

We started to think about what a belief is and how we can show our beliefs. We then thought about what Christians and Jewish people belief about God. Next week we will think about bigger questions to do with God.

STEM Day:

STEM day was absolutely fantastic and we found some budding scientists, technicians, engineers and mathematicians. We built a boat and had to make sure it stayed afloat whilst adding weight. We also built a bridge and had to see how many books would balance on it! The most was 70 books surprise!!! We also built spaghetti towers with marshmallows.

Next Week:

Next week is our final full week in Year 2 sad We will be finishing RE, learning about animals and their habitats and designing and making pizzas. Please can you plan with your child what healthy toppings they would like on a pizza and send these in with them on Friday, including some mozzarella.
