Week 5- 30th of November to 4th of December 2020

This week we enjoyed the True Story of the Three Little Pigs. The story is written from the wolf's perspective and it is very different from the original story , which is written from the pigs' point of view. It has made us think about how subjective writers are . We talked about the facts of the story and recorded them inour books.

Next, we looked at how direct speech is recorded in the book. We wrote in  speech bubbles  and then used speech marks or inverted commas to write the direct speech.

Spellings:

This week our focus has been on some of the Year 3 Homophones and you can find them stuck into the Reading Journal.

Homework:

We have been looking at some Book Reviews and talking about ahow to write them. Every child has got a blank one and you can help them by asking what book they really like and encourage them to write a review about it.

In Maths this week we continued working on Step 5.

Step 5: Subtracting multiples of ten from 3-digit number with regrouping .

Then we moved on to:

Step 6: Subtracting 2-digit numbers from 2-digit numbers with regrouping

Step 7: Mental subtraction with 2-digit numbers – varied practice

Step 8: Compensation

We have been decorating the classroom for Christmas and each of us has their own signed decoration on the tree.
We had a surpise on Friday!
