Week 4 - 30th September- 4th October
This afternoon we went down to Shenley Park for our annual apple juicing trip! We were able to taste delicious apples and discussed the different textures and flavours!
We helped to cut up the apples using an apple cutter and took it in turns to press the apples. Finally, we juiced the apples, this became tough especially as we got closer to the bottom. We managed to make a whole jug full of apple juice. All of us enjoyed a taste!
We would like to thank Liz at the Shenley Park who hosted the event.

In science this week we have learnt about micro-organisms. Yeast is a great micro- organism to watch in action. We conducted an experiment to see which food yeast likes to eat the most. This was proved by the amount of CO2 produced... We had a near explosion of the bag, with the food product it likes the most! Ask the children which one was the most popular.
To extend the children's learning of micro-organisms and fungi, they have been given some homework to investigate the factors that support the growth of mould on bread.
Enjoy investigating and being a scientist in your own home... I look forward to seeing your results! (Due date 18th October)
