Week 4 - 27th January 2020

In week four this half term, the children were planning their own fables. We all agreed on a moral which was based on the moral from the story 'Wars and Peas'. Then they created 2 animals characters where we had a variety of interesting animals including some mythical creatures. The children are all getting very excited to start writing their fables.

In the maths, the children were converting hours into minutes. We discussed how often films are shown in minutes rather than hours which I suggested that at home. if they happen to be searching for something to watch, they could convert the minutes into hours.

The children are doing so well in dance! They are putting together with the help from our dance expert, a dance to the song 'Survivor'. Hayley commented on  their "fantastic listening skills" and "enthusiasm" this week.

We started 'Reading buddies' with another class this week. The children absolutely loved reading to the younger years and it is so lovely to see. Reading at home is also so important and we are really trying to encourage the children to read more.

In art, the children designed their own shields and then made them. They have learnt all about the Spartans and Athenians which they found very interesting. We had a class vote on who they would have been back in the Ancient Greek times. The majority chose 'Athenians' because they enjoyed music, beauty and arts.

Hopefully the children are sharing all their knowledge and facts they have learnt about Ancient Greece.
