Week 4 - 27th January 2020

What a busy week!

We started off with a healthy eating project – we looked at the sugar content in everyday foods and were very surprised! We then had to plan a weekend of healthy meals for a very small budget of £20!

On Tuesday, we had some special visitors for our assembly. We were lucky enough to meet two Great British fencers! Emily and Phoebe came with Mr Beardmore to show us how exciting fencing can be! We all learnt so much about this new sport and enjoyed watching the fence off between the two girls. Fencing Fit have offered to start an after-school club for the children (if there is enough interest) as well as a parent and teacher class! Keep your eyes peeled!

On Thursday, we visited Yavneh secondary school for our indoor athletics tournament. All the children pushed themselves and were fantastic! We are so lucky to have such positive, determined and polite children in York class. I am so proud of every single person who joined us and we ever got a little treat when we arrived back to class.

In English, we finished our book of Flotsam with some persuasive writing. Some of us wrote radio advert scripts, TV adverts, posters and even letters to museums to buy our Flotsam camera. The quality of work was amazing – well done!

In Maths, we finished our shape topic with looking at nets. We explored different nets and used our reasoning skills to support our answers.
