Week 4 - 25th November 2019
This week, Kent Class have been continuing the Victorian theme and wrote diary entries as if we were going to work and school in the Victorian times. We were shocked to find out that not all children went to school, and that they had to be up at 2am to go to work.

In Maths, Year 1 have been continuing their work on place value and learning about their 'teen' numbers. We discovered that the 'ones' number is how many more that number is than 10. For example, 14 is 4 more ones than 10. We used dienes to show what our numbers would look like in base-10. In Year 2, we have continued our learning in deepening our understanding of addition calculations. We looked are 'near doubles' and how knowing these can help us with other calculations.

Next week, we are looking forward to starting our Science topic on 'Materials' and how they are used in everyday life. We will also have our visit from the Panto Bus and will be continuing to rehearse for the Christmas Play!
