Week 3 - 21st to 25th September 2020
In Maths this week we worked on mental calculations for Addition and Subtraction.
We used the 'think 10' strategy and rebalancing to find the equal sum and equal difference.
We have been practisining the 2, 3 and 10 times tables.
We started off the week in English with a focus on using conjunctions to make single clause sentences.
We talked about statements, questions and when to use exclamation marks. We looked at some of each and wrote our own examples of questions and also wrote sentences that needed the use of exclamation marks.
We had great fun this week with our book: The Papebag Princess by Robert Munsch. We absolutly loved joining in with his very dranatic and animated reading of the story. Why don't you watch it on YouTube and join in as well ?
We are going to rewrite the story from the dragon's point of view and have written some notes to help us to do that next week .
We are all very excited about rewriting the story from the dragon's perspective and we are looking forward to showing you some examples next week.
History has been fun this week and we have enjyed learning about the Ancient Egyptian pharaohs and what they did.
Thwn , we went on to learn about the Ancient Egyptian gods and godesses. We found out that there were more than 2000 of them altogether and we found our some interesting facts about some of them.
