Week 3- 20th January 2020

Oxford Class have carried on their Ancient Greek learning this week, looking at Athens vs Sparta, the gods and goddesses and even the first Olympics. On Thursday morning, we went outside and acted out some of the events in the Olympics such as running, long jump and javelin. Each team was assigned an Ancient Greek state and we made flags and mottos for our teams. The winning team was Corinth, so well done to Ethan, Theo, Alex G, Danny and Clark!

Continuing the Greek theme, On Friday we looked at the different gods and goddesses and made them into Top Trumps cards, ranking them in terms of power, strength and their weapon. We had great fun making them and even more fun playing each other at them.

In maths this week we have been finding fractions of amounts. We were doing this by first building a bar model with cubes, then drawing this model before using our multiplication and division skills to solve the problem. We worked hard and showed great resilience with lots of 'Marvellous Mes' being handed out!
