Week 3 - 20th January 2020

Kent Class Came to Tea!!

On Monday afternoon, we had our very own tea party to culminate our learning of 'The Tiger That Came to Tea'. We were very lucky as we were given:

  • Cupcakes
  • Emoji Cake
  • Chocolate Chip Biscuits
  • Jam Sandwiches

We even got to try our very own cups of tea. Some of us didn't like it though, we think that drink should stay for the adults.

English

Have a read of some of our finished stories. We worked really hard to think about our spellings, punctuation and even include different sentence openers to make it more appealing to the reader.

Maths

Year 1 have been learning all about 3D shapes and how we can identify them based on the 2D shapes they are made up of. We learnt new mathematical vocabulary such as:

  • curved
  • vertex
  • edge
  • line

Do you know the name of these shapes?

Forest School Fun!

We planted potatoes this week and in our free time set up an art studio and made ourselves palettes . We used sticks for brushes and boards as canvases then hung them in the trees to make a gallery. Some of us also made see-saws and experimented with each other's weights using different weights to see how the see saw's motion would change by bending our legs and transferring weight up and down the board.
