Week 3 - 18th November 2019

In Maths this week we have been recognising and writing numbers to 20. The children have really enjoyed participating in a range of number activities. They were very excited to go on a number hunt to find the numbers marked on post-it notes hidden around the classroom. Some children took up the challenge to find the missing number. Others had a go at writing their own numbers on post-its and stuck them around the classroom for their friends to find. The children also enjoyed counting pictures on cards and then finding the right number card to match. We talked about how we can use the displays on the walls of the classroom to help us recognise numbers. Another popular activity was tracing over numbers in felt tip pens and paint. We thought about how we form the numbers correctly, starting at the red dot and following the arrow marked on the paper.
