Week 3 - 18th November 2019
What a brrrrilliant week!
On Monday, we performed our BBC news broadcast to each other. We were focusing on using fronted adverbials and prepositional phrases. All children, showed great confidence when performing using clear pronunciation and a good pace. I think, we may have a few future news broadcasters in our midst.
Tuesday brought us minus temperatures and a hockey tournament at Hertswood. First things first, all children behaved impeccably and showed excellent sportsmanship. Both myself and Mrs Winsor are incredibly proud of all of you so a huge well done! All our games were played with determination and focus. With excellent techniques and teamwork, we have found ourselves a place in the county finals! Let’s bring that trophy home!
Our creative curriculum focus this week is Art. Keeping in theme of ‘Darwin’s Delights’ we have been looking at drawing feathers, birds and creating out own printing tile. When drawing feathers and birds we started off with a ‘cold’ draw. This is where you draw something without any inspiration or using a picture to support your drawing. Then we looked at different photos to help us to draw in a greater detail. Using ICT, we used videos to look at step by step tutorials. The art has been produced has be phenomenal. All children were able to see a clear improvement across their page! The little snippets have been added to our Darwin display.
