Week 3 - 18th November 2019
This week we continued with lots of great learning! In English we created our own Seaside Brochures, making sure that we included lists, captions and an inviting opening. We also continued our Gymnastics lessons and learnt how to balance on a bench, walking forwards, backwards, jumping off the end and balancing with a bean bag on our heads!

Balancing on Benches

In Maths, Year 1 have been looking at making 10 and some more and enjoyed using tens frames and part whole models. Year 2's have explored balancing whilst subtracting 9 and 11. We also consolidated complements to 100 using what we know already with our number bonds to 10.

Finally, in History we learnt more about life in the Victorian period and experienced a Victorian Classroom! We had to follow the Victorian classroom rules and compare how much better our class is to a Victorian style of teaching.
Next week, we will be looking at Victorian work life for children. In Maths, Year 1 will be building numbers to 20 (15=10+5). Year 2 will be developing written calculations for addition and subtraction - thinking about regrouping, near doubles and re-balancing.
