Week 2- 2nd March 2020
This week was 'Book Week' and we did lots of fun activities linked to this in Oxford Class. We were looking at the book 'We're All Wonders' by R.J.Palacio which focuses on always being kind to others, even when they are different to you. The children produced artwork where they drew themselves as one of the characters and in the background wrote down different ways that we can be kind to one another. You can see some of this artwork below. We also wrote poems and letters based on this text. Some of our work is on display in the entrance hall, whilst some other pieces will be on display at Hertswood in a few months time as part of the 'Words in the Wood' project. On Thursday we came to school dressed as our favourite book character and had great fun seeing each others costumes.
Our new Science topic looks at the human skeleton and the role that it plays in our body. On Monday we worked together with Middlesex class to create our own skeleton out of pasta! This task was designed to get us thinking about what our skeleton actually looks like, and also showed us what we already know and any misconceptions that we may have. Our teachers will use what they learned from this to plan our learning on this topic.
