Week 2 - 11th November 2019
This week in York class has been of hard work and engaging learning! We started the week off with Odd Sock day to show our support for Anti Bullying week! Mrs Coneely, led us in an assembly where we watched videos and listened to song to help us understand just a little bit more!
In Maths, we have been look at fractions! All of us have been challenged this week as we have been simplifying, finding equivalent fractions and changing the denominators. WOW! It was tricky and we have all set ourselves a task of practicing our timestables just a little bit more!
In English, we are studying the Spiderwick Chronicles – Field Guide. We have been set a task by the BBC to broadcast our findings of the rare Will-o-the- Wisps. We are focusing on using fronted adverbials and prepositional phrases within our broadcast.
In Jigsaw, our topic is Celebrating Differences. We have been looking at inspirational children with disabilities. This week we watched a video of a little boy called Archie. He has cerebral palsy – we all decided that he had an amazing mindset. To start our Jigsaw session, we had to pass a ball around the room without using our hands – to get us thinking how we might take everyday things for granted.
For Children in Need, we wore spots or dressed up as a teddy bear!
