Week 1 - 6th January 2020

Welcome Back!

What an exciting first week! We were so happy to be back in Kent Class and to start our learning again. Our new theme 'Paws, Claws and Whiskers' will run up until February Half Term.

We will begin by looking at the book 'The Tiger Who Came to Tea'.

Science Week

This week, we kicked off the term with Science Week and the topic was 'Our Diverse Planet'. We went round the classrooms, and all the teachers had set up different experiments.

  • We looked under microscopes at different insects, flowers, parts of the body and animals
  • We made parachutes
  • We put a balloon on top of a hairdryer and saw how it floated

We also had the Science Fair on Friday and lots of us brought in experiments that we had designed at home. We were able to walk around and see all the different things people had made.

In class, we also begun our new topic of 'animals, humans and their habitats'. We started by exploring our taste buds and got to try: lemons, cooking apples, chocolate and salty crisps to experience all the tastes that mouth can pick up.
