Week 1 - 6th January 2020
This week has been a very exciting week, with us kicking off the term with our annual Science week!
Across Wednesday and Thursday morning, the class rotated in their house groups to experience a range of Science experiments. They built parachutes to test air resistance, made ping pong balls fly using hairdryers, designed waterproof hats, created paper aeroplanes to test to speed and length in which they could fly and created static electricity with balloons. What great fun we all had!
In class, we have been using the theme of 'Our Diverse Planet' to engage in yet more exciting experiments and Science learning.
Well done to the children that also participated at home and brought in their own Science learning for the School Science Fair!
On Friday, we also began our 10 week programme with Watford Football Club learning a range of movement skills and activities linked to football. The children had the chance to even create mini matches to test their defence skills.
Later on the afternoon, we continued with our Greek Art work and used the theme of animals seen on Greek pots to inspire our plates! We used Greek colours and patterns too. Next week we will be designing and making Greek pots from clay.
