Week 1- 4th November 2019

This week the children in Oxford class had great fun engaging in all the different activities of our school 'Arts Week.' We got to try Drama, Art, Music and Dance on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings this week and had a great time doing so.

In Maths on Monday we had a focus on learning our times tables. After spending some time learning the times table which we are currently working on, we made games to play with our friends to help us become more secure with the facts. Some of us made matching games, others made memory games and some of us made 'snap' style games. We had fun making them and found that this to be very beneficial when we were learning our times tables.

This week in music we were learning about 'pentatonic scales' which are musical scales with 5 notes. We used the c major pentatonic scale to make up our own compositions and shared them with our friends.

Our new topic is 'Let There Be Light' and will focus on different inventions and inventors. Today in English we chose an inventor to research and we will be using this information to create poetry next week.
