Week 1 - 24th February
Wellbeing Week
Every day this week we have taken part in activities to improve our wellbeing and everyone has enjoyed them.
We talked about being kind to ourselves and we wrote ideas in hearts how we could do this.
Things I like about me.
We wrote lots of things that we liked about ourselves and also made pictures of what we like about ourselves,
English
This half term , we are continuing our study of the Ancient Greeks and our new text is ' The Adventures of Odysseus' by Hugh Lipton and Daniel Morden, which is based on Homer's Odyssey. We read some of the stories and had a particular focus on the Cyclops. We used varied and interesting adjectives to describe him , as well as some great similes. After that , we created posters to persuade people to stay away from this one-eyed monster. Using the language of persuasion again, we discussed whether we thought that Odysseus and his men should visit another island on their way.
Maths
This week we have started dividing by four, using our knowledge of the four times tables. Also, we have been developing our understanding of perimeter and calculating the perimeter of rectilinear shapes.
