21st September

This week, we began our 6 week program with Watford FC looking at Mental Health. Each week, we will have a task to complete from challenges to quizzes. The quiz this week looked at what we know already about Mental Health and our own opinions on this and why people should talk about it more openly!
In Maths, we started looking and multiplying and dividing by 10,100,1000 within a context. We practised converting between kg, g, ml, L, cm and mm! On Friday, we worked together in pairs to work on some arithmetic questions - they were mixed up around the room and we had to try and complete them all in the time!

In Spelling, we have been looking at suffixes and how the root word may change when adding the suffix. We played bingo,  sorted words into different categories and had a race to see which pair could think of the most words! Our challenge next week, is to use these words within our writing.

We read Chapter 2 of Friend of Foe (see below if you would like to re-read this chapter). We looked at relative clauses and describing Mr Reynolds, there were some great descriptions that even included similies and metaphors from our previous learning!

Well done York Class! You have had a great week and your attitude to learning has been fantastic!
