The real week of.17.5.2021

My apologies on the mess up with the dates of the class page! I am not able to solve it without deleting the whole page and reloading so hopefully you were able to follow the link by it being named 'The real week of 17.5.21.

Our JIGSAW theme is all about relationships. We have discussed the different types of relationship people can have and how they change in a positive and negative way. This week we focused on the emotion jealousy. The children could articulate very well about a time they have experienced jealousy. They were also aware that it is an unhelpful emotion that doesn’t make you feel good.

We shared our leaflets about Alaska and the Great Barrier Reef with year 2, 3, 5 and 6. The children LOVED it!! They were very excited and nervous but all they all came back feeling confident and proud of themselves, which was great to see. Especially as they worked so hard on their leaflets to it was lovely for them to be able to share them.

In maths, we have been continuing our learning about decimals. We have used a lot of food this week to try and show the children that a tenth is when a whole number is divided into ten equal parts which is equivalent to 0.10 and 0.01 is when a whole number is divided into a hundred equal parts. The children have worked very hard on consolidating their understanding of decimals.

We also planned our pizzas this week, which was very interesting hearing all of the children’s quirky tastes and topping suggestions for pizzas!

Our school assembly was this week and will be uploaded today so I hope you enjoy it. Swimming will continue (for year 4) after half term on the same day (Thursdays). Mrs Dales will sending out information to you next week. Next week is only also a three-day week for the children. Wednesday 26th is when the children break up for half term.

Have a super weekend everyone! J
