Spring 1

As you know Shenley Primary School has been the home to two different bat species. Today we had the batman Peter (not Batman Bruce Wayne!) come in to give us some more information about these amazing creatures. We have both the Common Pipistrelle and the less common Soprano Pipistrelle in our roof. How lucky our we?!

We have started our Art block and have been looking at David Hockney and his many styles of art. We are looking mainly at his landscapes and have been surprised to see how large his painting actually are. The children have enjoyed discussing whether or not they like his work and why.

If you want to find out more about his art work visit:

Four of our children represented Shenley Primary School for a Maths competition. Well done boys, you did extremely well.
Wow! What an exciting assembly we had this week. We were lucky to have a demonstration of  'Fencing' by two young ladies who are aiming for the Olympics. The children were encouraged to ask questions and cheer on their fencer. Let's hope we have some interest and we can start a Fencing club at Shenley.

If you order books (over £25- online) from the Book People they will donate £1 to your local school.
