Science

This week in Science, we will be looking at which materials are good 'thermal insulators'. A 'thermal insulator' is a material that keeps heat in while a 'thermal conductor' is a material that allows heat to pass through it. You will be setting up an experiment to investigate which materials are good at insulating (keeping heat in) and those that are good conductors (allowing heat to pass out). You will need 3 identical cups of warm water and 3 different materials to wrap around the cups. You could choose foil, cling film (plastic), a wool scarf or a t shirt made of cotton. Record your results in a table. Can you draw a diagram of your experiment and label it too?
