Literacy Activity

The Rainbow Fish

Listen to the story and identify any words that are linked to how ‘shiny’ the Rainbow Fish’s special fins are. You may wish to focus on the pages after the octopus appears rather than the whole story, as there are many descriptive words for the scales in these pages. Further pages to focus on would be the first page and the page with the starfish.

Write a list of words that describe ‘shiny’ things using phonics skills to spell.

Maths Activity

This week we are learning all about doubling. Use the PowerPoint below to find out how to double.

You could have a go at making your own doubling machine using junk modelling materials. Put some bricks into your doubling machine and double them.

If you have a set of dominoes, you could find all the doubles. Download the worksheets below to practise doubling dominoes.
