Maths

This week in Maths we will be looking at area and learning how to calculate the area of a shape.

On Monday we will be finding the area of regular shapes by counting squares. On Tuesday we will move on to finding the area of irregular shapes by counting squares.

After that, on Wednesday, we will be learning how to calculate the area of a shape more accurately and on Thursday we will use our reasoning skills with area.

I have set some Mathletics tasks on area for you to complete on Friday and you may also choose to complete the blank multiplication square attached.

I have attached a sheet of squared paper for you to work on during this unit if needed. We will carry on with more complex area problems next week.

Monday- To find the area of shapes by counting squares.

Tuesday- To find the area of irregular shapes by counting squares.

Friday- Mathletics area problems and/ or multiplication grid
