Amazing Africa house morning
We love working with our families!
Thank you to the PTA for paying for the brilliant African drumming workshop which the children loved. It was so inspiring and the children had such fun!
I'm an 11 year old get me out of here!
Shakespeare and Morpurgo class did two amazing performances for the parents. They spoke up, sang out and acted with such confidence, it was brilliant to see!
Parents joined Milligan class for their last ukulele lesson this morning with Mrs Mackie. The children showed us a range of musical skills, clapping, singing and playing the ukulele so confidently! Thank you to Mrs Mackie for teaching them ukulele lessons this year, the children are looking forward to Mrs Jacobs teaching them with Mrs Mackie in Year 4.
Our children were mascots at Borehamwood FC, such a privilege!
Zoo lab, thank you to those who donated for this great experience!
Morpurgo class compared different sources to find out about Walter Tull in History. They wrote their own questions about the sources.

Milligan class have had such a lovely time at Celtic Harmony!
All the parents loved the Dance performance on Wednesday, the children put such passion into their movements and made it a real performance!
Rev Sarah told us the parable of the Prodigal son
The School Council led an assembly about playtimes and lunchtimes and shared some new equipment for us to use on the field. They reminded the children about our school values.
We are very much looking forward to the Y6 concert on Tuesday 11th July at 1.30pm and 6.00pm. The whole school enjoyed the dress rehearsal this week, it promises to be great!

We have had fun at Sports Day racing - sprints, egg and spoon, sack and hurdles races. Thank you to Mrs James for organising such a fantastic event! Thanks also to the PTA for providing refreshments on the day. Well done to all the children for their sporting participation and cheering one another on!

Jeffers class had a great Stay & Learn planting and designing a poster to show the steps they had to take to grow a plant. It was great to see parents and children enjoying being creative together.
In History, Shakespeare class were exploring the differences between schools in the 1940s and today. We are lucky to be at school today!
In PSHE Rowling class have been thinking about genes and the physical traits we get from our birth parents. In art we decided to share what makes us "wonders" and interpret this with a portrait and words.
Morpurgo class wrote reasons for and against Macbeth betraying (killing) King Duncan. They then used these to create a class debate. They had the challenge of using dramatic voices!
Sports Day
Please send children wearing their house colours t-shirt. The children will be doing their field events in the morning and scoring points for their house. At 12.00pm parents are invited to join their children for a picnic on the field. Staff will register the children for the afternoon and at 1.00pm races will begin. Thank you to the PTA for selling refreshments during the picnic and the afternoon. We will announce the Sports Day house winners at the end of the races. After the races please feel free to take your children home.
We are looking forward to a fun day and hope you can join us!

Kipling class had a great Stay & Learn creating Art in the style of Andy Goldsworthy. It was great to see parents and children enjoying being creative together.
We are all looking forward to joining in with the Reading Challenge at Radlett library over the Summer break. Please join the Library in preparation for the challenge. Children will be able to bring their certificates and medals into assembly in September to show off proudly!
Rev Sarah led our assembly about the parable of the Lost Sheep.
Y3 are book buddies with EYFS and love reading to them!
Rowling class enjoy learning on Purple Mash.
Year 4 also started some volcano projects. They have chosen a volcano, researched and are presenting it.
Morpurgo class are interpreting data on graphs and writing true and false statements.

Great fun at ShenFest!!
EYFS had a fantastic 'Stay & Learn' all the parents enjoyed joining in with 'child initiated learning' and the children loved showing them what to do in Early Years!
This week in Early Years we have been learning about taking care of our environment. We sorted a pile of rubbish into things that are made of plastic and things that are made of card and then we used the things to make models. We went around the school picking up rubbish so the wildlife does not get harmed and found out about recycling.

In Early Years, we have been using tens frames for counting and some of the Reception children have been writing their own versions of 'The Bog Baby' story.
Kipling class have made fruit salad for DT
Rev Sarah told us the parable of the Good Samaritan, the children enjoyed acting out the story. We have talked this week about who is our neighbour and being kind to one another like the Good Samaritan.
Milligan class made clocks with their parents at the Stay & Learn, we talked about the hour hand, the minute hand and how to tell the time on an analogue clock compared to a digital clock.

Shakespeare class did an amazing job with their SATs, as did Miss Suckling!
They had practised, they were confident, they did themselves and us proud - well done Y6!
They celebrated on the 'Top table' at lunchtime with me and then in class with a well-deserved party for the afternoon.
We hope they have a fantastic time at Runway's End next week, what an adventure that will be!
Rowling class have been learning about volcanoes in Geography and did some great work to demonstrate their new vocabulary.

In Early Years we have been reading a story called The Bog Baby. Reception children have written sentences about the bog baby and nursery children have had a go at making their own creature.
