History

To start this week's History I would like you to watch this video clip about the Roman's invasion of Britain.

The Roman Empire and its effect on Britain

Historian Bettany Hughes explores what made Britain so attractive to the ancient Romans that they wanted to invade...

So lets recap what we know so far about the Romans…

Over 2000 years ago, Julius Caesar wanted and tried to invade Britain but failed twice.

Emperor Claudius organised the final and successful Roman invasion of Britain. They fought for 2 days before the Celts retreated.

The Romans came to Britain looking for riches - land, slaves, and most of all, iron, lead, zinc, copper, silver and gold.

Remember the Celts were still in Britain when the Romans invaded.

We know the Roman designed and created, what we call today ‘roads’.

Now you are going to learn how the Roman empire affected different people and how they felt.

Boudicca & the Roman Invasion

This animation explores life in Britain during the Roman Invasion and Boudicca's rebellion in 60AD...
