Friday

Today is a bank holiday to celebrate VE Day.

Here are some activities you could do to celebrate:

Medals

What were medals for? Who got awarded one? Do you know anyone with a medal?

Talk about Captain Tom Moore.

You could design your own medal. Who would you award it to? Why?

Songs

Listen to and learn to sing some war time songs.

You could record your singing and send it to me!

Planes

Find out about WW2 planes. Make a paper plane and decorate it in the style of a WW2 plane. Does it fly as well as they did?

PARTY!

Have a party to celebrate VE Day. You could make union flag bunting and make your own party decorations: red, white and blue paper chains, streamers, table decorations. In my family, we are going to have traditional 'afternoon tea' with sandwiches and cake.

Have fun and don't forget to email me photos!
