For Reading this week, I would like you to pick your favourite book from home and write a book review on it. There are three different options below of how you can set it out.

This week we will be exploring poetry all linked to spring!  Have a think first of all about what makes a poem different to a story or a non-fiction text.  Maybe you have a favourite poem?

Task 1

Your first writing task this week is to read a range of different poems – discuss how they are different from each other.

Identify the different features of the poems, eg colour rhyme in one colour, adjectives in another and repetition in another.

Task 2

Read this poem ‘Spring is here!’

Draw your own responses to this poem.

Why not go out on a spring walk? As you go try to use your senses to see spring, smell spring and listen to spring.

Task 3

Write your own Spring Poem using the acrostic format below
