28th September

This week, saw York class focusing in on our History topic 'A Child at War'. We were lucky enough to have two virtual talks to enhance our learning.

On Monday, David from the Tally Ho Project, spoke to use about the Battle of Britain. He told us about how women supported the war effort, the planes that defied all odds and stories of pilots who showed great resilience and courage. It was a great opportunity to ask questions as well as share our learning with David.

On Thursday, Miss Gallagher's nan came online to speak to us about her own evacuation experience. The children had a great time asking her questions about her time in Bridgewater, Somerset. Grandma Midge, shared with us stories of happiness about her host family as well how the celebrations of VE day are with her today.
Finally, this week also brought our first virtual assembly. York class worked incredibly hard together to write the script, practise their lines and speak clearly. I am extremely proud of Year 6 this week - so well done all of you! Our class assembly is available for you to watch on our main class page!
