19th October 2020
This week, as part of our Black History week, we have been learning about Ruby Bridges. She was one of the first African-American children to attend a white elementary school in America in 1960. We read her story and the struggles she suffered to be able to receive a good education. We also watched a clip from the movie to help us understand her story further. In English, we wrote newspaper reports about her first day and the protestors she was faced with. As a class, we produced some fantastic work. Here is a selection of our work:
In Maths, we have been re-capping time and converting 24-hour time into 12 hour. We interpreted timetables - looking at bus times and answering questions around this. Well done for your determination this week York class!
